10/10 - The house is extremely spacious, spotlessly clean and well fitted out through out, the owners obviously care about their property. The kitchen was great for cooking large meals. Pete was there if needed but not at all intrusive. A perfect house for a large group. Kilve Beach for fossil hunting, Dunster Castle. We also rented mountain bikes from Pompys Cycles who delivered. - Roberts - December 2018

10/10 - It was like living in a good country house hotel without the staff. Just perfect for our family of 20. For those interested in history Cleeve Abbey. Dunster Castle is ok but a bit limited. Exmoor is stunning and so are the Quantocks on the doorstep. St Audries Waterfall on the foreshore is very difficult to reach. You either walk a mile east or west to a caravan park and locate steps down to the sea. Only go at low tide. - Tompkins - October 2018

10/10 - We stayed at the Old Rectory for a surprise 30th birthday and had an incredible time from start to finish. First pulling up to the house was a real 'WOW' moment, and waking up in the morning to such amazing views was just wonderful. The rooms were fantastic, really spacious and comfortable with mostly en suites. The hot tub and games room got a lot of use and the living rooms were spacious enough to fit us all comfortably. We would definitely recommend the Old Rectory to others and thank you very much for having us. Hopefully see you again soon! - Mavers - October 2018

10/10 - The house was beautiful - and soo clean! Really was a spectacle going up the drive for everyone who stayed. It also had everything we could need - really appreciated the welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee and the mini shower gels, shampoos and conditioners in each room! Perfect weekend stay! - Curtis - October 2018

10/10 - The house was brilliant and had everything we needed. - Hewitt - September 2018

10/10 - We had a great time and the rooms were very spacious with lots of different areas to gather. The kitchen was great and we found everything we needed for cooking a meal on both nights for all of us. Thank you for a great stay! We did a lovely walk over the Quantocks to Holford. - Cashmore - August 2018

8/10 - We were very grateful for the help throughout the week from Pete the manager. He was there when you needed him and otherwise not seen. Always upbeat and optimistic with easy answers to problems. Made a considerable difference to have him around. The rooms were excellent: we actually needed more twin bedded rooms for our grandchildren but we managed. Kitchen extensive and well equipped. Playroom well equipped for all ages of grandchild as there was an x-box and lego of all types. Games room had table tennis and snooker and the garden a trampoline and climbing frame in excellent condition. Big tub a great success. Wi-fi variable but I expect that is the local provision not that of the house. Several of us had to keep up with work from afar and the variableness not easy to cope with. we would have given it 10 if it had had an indoor swimming pool and then the pebbly nature of the beaches would not have mattered so much. We had a good day going on the steam train from Watchet to Dunster Castle with a picnic it was excellent. Nice browsing in Dunster shops. Good walk along the coastal path from Kilve beach. - Phillips - August 2018

10/10 - We loved the layout of the house and gardens. All very well designed for smooth running. It was great to play table tennis with my sons and the games room was well used. The children loved the accessible playroom. We could have done with a rubber mat in the shower to stop slipping and maybe a handle to hold on to. Great kitchen but maybe more children's plates/bowls/beakers would have been useful. We enjoyed staying in the gardens and the children, aged 1-11 loved the apparatus and just playing together in the big house. The adults loved the hot tub and chilling out! Our only trip out was to Blue Harbour beach and as it is stony and the water muddy I would not recommend it. - Knight - August 2018

9/10 - Good size house, well maintained. Some small niggles: sensor lights in the hallway were annoying and not practical with small children and sleep routines. Dishwasher was temperamental in the kitchen. Trampoline netting should be fixed so that this is safer for children. Check out time for the last day at 10am was reasonable but with people arriving from 8am this did make us feel a little rushed and slightly infringed on our personal space on the last morning. - Wolfenden - August 2018

9/10 - Lovely house and recommend Gayla Stewart coming to cater at the house. Amazingly we can’t think of any improvements needed! We visited Tropiquaria and can recommend for a day out. - Wolstencroft - July 2018

9/10 - The outside seating provision was disappointing. It was impossible to sit 19 guests for a BBQ and there were no loungers provided. However, the children enjoyed the play equipment. As we ate in every night a second fridge and larger freezer would have been a bonus. A television in some of the bedrooms would have been nice. But overall the house was lovely, very spacious and in a beautiful location. - Pine - July 2018

8/10 - Provide: Hangers in bedrooms for clothes. A dishwasher that works. Top floor shower that has some water pressure. - Richter - July 2018

10/10 - The house was immaculate, we never realised that the caretaker Pete lived in the house as well so made us conscious with the children on the first night not to make too much noise. Pete (the caretaker) was very informative and gave us full instructions on the dos and donts with the running of the house. (Very nice man). We felt like we'd won the lottery living in such wonderful surroundings! What a view! We used the gas barbecue and hot tub. Kitchen facilities were second to none! Outstanding!!! If we could all afford it we'd be back like a shot to celebrate another family members big birthday! Thank you so much. - Bulpitt - July 2018

10/10 - Smith - June 2018

10/10 - Lovely feel to the whole place. Beautifully decorated and lots of nice touches with toiletries and robes provided. I personally loved the kitchen, it had everything and more to cater and cook for our group of 20, perhaps a few more bar stools would have been nice as everyone always congregates in the kitchen. Games room with table tennis and snooker was well used and enjoyed and as we had such great weather, the garden boules provided a lot of fun. Group of 20 and no grumbles from anyone, what more can I say except that we would love to return next year. We took the Steam Train from Watchet to Minehead. The trip was enjoyed by all age groups from 7 year old to 89 year old. - Johns - May 2018

10/10 - The house is brilliant in all respects. Loved all the facilities and used every one fully. Maybe better broadband, but who cares when you’re on holiday! - Marsden - May 2018

10/10 - We all had an amazing stay!! It’s a beautiful house which was immaculately clean!! And had a very nice reception when we arrived!! - Graham - April 2018

9/10 - The stay was perfect and the property was very well maintained and of a high standard. No suggestions for changes. We took the Steam Train ride along the coast from Watchet to Minehead. - Anderson - April 2018

10/10 - My daughter liked the trampoline best and I like the hot tub and real fire. It’s a really lovely house with a great view. - Beegan - April 2018

9/10 - Was absolutely fantastic but would have liked sockets near a mirror in our room for drying/styling hair and others said the same. Otherwise really couldn’t fault. - Atkinson - March 2018

10/10 - We all had a lovely time, the Old Rectory is a beautiful house, very clean and it was well equipped with everything we needed. We were there for a long weekend to celebrate a 80th birthday, so we didn't go out. - Coleman - March 2018

10/10 - We had a wonderful New Years break with 13 adults and 8 children ranging from 10 weeks to 6 Years old. The house lay out and room sizes were amazing. It would have been nice to have TVs in the rooms so we could have more private time but the house provided everything we needed. If an indoor pool was ever on the horizon we would be back all the time. It was just the perfect place for us to spend NY. - Mawbey Family - New Year 2017

10/10 - The house was fantastic we had an amazing time. Dunster is worth a visit! - Palmer Family - November 2017

10/10 - Amazing property, fantastic service which has left us with so many beautiful memories - truely blessed! - Stephens Party - November 2017

10/10 - Excellent. We'd recommend days out to: Somerset Steam Train, Dunster Castle, beach at Watchet, Lynton & Lynmouth. For those who like ‘interesting driving’ don’t forget the toll road drives through Porlock private estate woodlands. - Lashmar Family - November 2017

10/10 - The Old Rectory was the perfect spacious house for families holidaying together. We all loved the hot tub. The house also had great play equipment for the children, indoors and out. We visited West Somerset Railway and Dunster Castle and village. Booking through sleeps12 was an easy experience and when I emailed a couple of time with questions I received replies very quickly. I would recommend sleeps12 to others. - Marshall Family - August 2017

10/10 - The house was beautifully prepared for us. Gayla Stewart prepared a delicious celebration meal for us. We visited Dunster Castle and working mill (in operation on Wednesdays), Fyne Court National Trust (free admission - nice walks and tea room), Fossil beaches at Warren Bay and East Quantoxhead during our stay.  - White Family - July 2017

9/10 - The games room was well used and the living rooms were really beautiful and well furnished. The kids missed a swimming pool but the fabulous games room and outdoor space made up for it. A great holiday. - Johnson Family - July 2017

10/10 - All fabulous. An outside shower next to the hot tub would be helpful. We went to Afternoon Tea at Chantry in Kilve - lovely. - Slate Family - June 2017
