Bicknoller, Somerset
A picturesque village on the lower slopes of the Quantock Hills, with ancient earthworks up above it. The little streets are lined with some wonderful properties – old thatched cottages and the Bicknoller Inn, and at the junction of the charmingly named Honey Row Lane, is a little village shop that sells local jam, and eggs, cakes, cheese and cold meats. Sit outside with a mug of tea or soup after a walk and soak up the ambience.
