If you like to spend your family holidays in the lap of luxury with top notch facilities and beautiful surroundings, The Tip-Top will suit you fine. This stunning contemporary house in Devon sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms, there's a private swim spa, a pizza oven, firepit,a Scandinavian style BBQ lodge and a children's play area. What’s great is that the house is south facing so you get to enjoy the best of the sunshine, and the private secluded setting gives you the most incredible views that stretch for miles across the Blackdown Hills.

You even get a pond for boating and fishing, so you know, we quite understand if you don’t get round to going out anywhere whilst you’re here. If you do get a bit of wanderlust you won’t have to go far to find family attractions, country walks and good places to eat. Go for a stroll in the fields followed by a scrumptious pub lunch at The Ashill Inn or The Culm Valley Inn; pop down to Culmstock, pick up a paper at The Strand Stores, stop by for coffee and home made cake.

If the younger folk are desperate for a day out, head down to Crealy Theme Park & Resort where there are rides and entertainment galore; take them to Wildwood Escot, or pootle over to the Devon coast for a day at the seaside where you can try mackerel fishing or visit the Marine Aquarium at Lyme Regis. Have a ride on the old fashioned tram at Seaton and then tuck into fish and chips on the beach, go see blacksmiths at work in the old thatched Forge at Branscombe or ride around the landscaped gardens on a miniature steam train at Pecorama at Beer.

And how about you? If historic houses are your thing, it’s not far to Killerton or Knightshayes, both NT, or for gorgeous gardens, Hestercombe is hard to beat round here. Spend a day in Exeter, where you can see the beautiful Gothic cathedral, take a tour of the Underground Passages and browse the RAM Museum. Down at the quayside you can hire kayaks and have a paddle on the Exe estuary where the pace slows down, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets.

Closer to home you could go for a hack with Sheldon Riding School, put the pedal to the metal at Mansell Raceway, or take an obstacle course challenge at The Bear Trail. You see, there’s lots to see and do, but like we said, you might well decide that you're not going anywhere; you're just going to stay put, happy in a world of your own at The Tip-Top. And who can blame you.
