UPDATE APRIL 2021 - SHELDON RIDING SCHOOL HAS NOW CLOSED
Sometimes it’s hard to describe the joy of getting out into beautiful countryside on horseback, just leisurely making your way along a bridleway, wide open fields, nature all around you. If that’s the sort of thing you like doing when you’re on holiday in the West Country you should book up with Sheldon Riding Centre for a hack; they have horses to suit all abilities and they can accommodate disabled riders too. The setting is gorgeous, in the Blackdown Hills of Devon, and they have an outdoor arena where you can have a quick lesson if you need one.
They do stable days for children and hacks of half an hour or more provided there’s at least two of you; vouchers are available, a great idea for birthdays.
