Staple Fitzpaine, Somerset
An attractive village lying amidst the undulating countryside of the Blackdown Hills, just a few miles from Taunton. It’s one that people drive through rather than stop and walk round because the road can get quite busy. There are some pretty almshouses and a church with an impressive perpendicular tower. Just up the road are Castle Neroche and Staple Hill, both very good for walks with trails to follow, and you can round off at the Greyhound Inn, a popular pub with rustic character, a good selection of ales, and tasty food.
