Exmouth, Devon
On the banks of the Exe estuary on the south coast of Devon, Exmouth has some admirable Regency architecture, and a diversity of independent shops and eateries – try the River Exe Café or South Beach Café for lunch, or Bumble and Bee in Manor Gardens for a traditional Devon cream tea. In late May every year the town is buzzing with Exmouth Music Festival, and in September, seafood lovers flock to the Spirit of the Exe and Exmouth Mussel Festival. The two miles of sandy beach, where you can enjoy donkey rides, swing boats and boat trips, are very popular with families and great for all kinds of watersports, especially kite surfing, kayaking, and windsurfing.
Some areas of the beach have no dog restrictions.
