40th Birthday Celebrations

Birthdays should always be celebrated, especially those milestones like 30th, 40th and 50th birthdays and so on; we all seem to be staying younger for longer these days so push the boat out, make an occasion of it and get yourself a great group of people together and head for one of our fantastic large group holiday homes to celebrate in style.

Don’t they say fab at forty? Even more reason to take off for a weekend or even a whole week and chill out with friends and family, raising a glass or two, lazing around the pool, and having a big barbecue or gathering round the table for a scrumptious feast of all your favourite grub. And no matter who’s included in your large group, young or old, we’ve got it covered, there really is something for everyone at our terrific holiday homes sleeping 8-30 people.

The little ones can let off steam on the play equipment, teenagers and Dads can have a laugh in the games rooms, Mums and Aunties, Grannies and friends can relax in the sauna or steam room, and there’s room for all in the hot tubs and heated swimming pools. Add to that a cosy Nordic style BBQ lodge and you’ve got all you need for the most brilliant break ever.

As a backdrop you’ll have miles of beautiful countryside as we’ve got large group holiday homes located in glorious settings in Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Monmouthshire. There’s a stunner of a house that sleeps 12 in Worcester, not far from the city centre, with a 4m swim spa and an outdoor dining pavilion with a barbecue, pizza oven and firepit, complete with cushions and twinkly lights. Check out Pitmaston House to see what we mean.

If you fancy being 40 in France then get organised and head to Chateau La Chutelière, a dream of a house for 15 guests in the Department of Deux-Sèvres close to Parthenay and within easy reach of Poitiers. 23 glorious acres to wander in, with a river, a canal, woodlands, an orchard and fruit gardens; there’s a fabulous movie room, a games room, and on the terrace, a saltwater swimming pool. Lazy hazy days you’ll remember forever.

Take yourselves off to a luxury lodge deep in the Somerset countryside; Ham Bottom and Fuzzy Orchard both sleep up to 14 people and have heaps of space and style, and each has its own indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, play equipment, games room and BBQ lodge. Take your ease, catch glorious sunsets over the valley whilst you drink a toast. In the Blackdown Hills, Flossy Brook is set in a private 1 acre plot with a suntrap of a patio and an integral indoor pool; just down the hill is a welcoming village pub, a few miles up the road the most tranquil lakes that make a great spot for a picnic.

Soak up the good life at an elegant country house, a rambling farmhouse or an English country cottage; Sleeping 16, Berry House looks out over a spectacular valley on the edge of Exmoor and has a private pool, games room and play area; You can even book up some clay pigeon shooting on site from October to March. Out on the Somerset Levels, Riverside is a peaceful escape right on the banks of the River Tone. It sleeps 12 guests and has a secure garden with a play area and beneath a leafy arbour there’s a hot tub. Not far from Taunton is Pound Farm, packed with character and sleeping 18 people; plenty of fun to be had in the games room, indoor pool, hot tub and sauna.
