Sleeping 14 people in 7 bedrooms Garden Court is a wonderful large group holiday home with a private indoor pool, games room and play area. Tucked away on a quiet lane in the tiny village of Westhumble near Dorking, in the not-so-distant it was the local doctor’s surgery, so people came here looking for a cure for their illnesses. Visit the Houses of Parliament, London Dungeons, and Madame Tussauds; have a ride on The London Eye, and don’t miss the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.
The village is surrounded by the spectacular Surrey Hills AONB, so there’s plenty of opportunity to get out and explore. At the bottom of the village you can hop across the River Mole on the stepping stones and head into the hills; climb to the top of Box Hill and have a picnic, with the vast landscape spread out before you. If you prefer your wheels, you’ll be glad to know that official cycle paths run very close to the village.
Just down the road is Dorking, a historic market town with an interesting Museum and Heritage Centre and South Street Caves; nearby are Leatherhead, Guildford and Reigate, all good for a mooch about and a bite to eat. Take a family trip to Hampton Court, Chessington World of Adventures, or Bocketts Farm Park; plant lovers will be in their element at RHS Garden Wisley, Polesden Lacey, or Claremont Landscape Garden. For something different, the kids will love the mystical farm adventure park at Hobbledown, grown-ups will enjoy Denbies Wine Estate and the Surrey Hills Brewery. And there’s so much more!
