Woolley Grange, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire
This Jacobean manor is set in gorgeous landscaped grounds in the Wiltshire countryside and is as well liked with locals as it is with guests who come and stay at this rather exquisite hotel.
Woolley Grange has an excellent reputation for food and there’s a huge emphasis on local produce; in fact much of it is has been hand pulled from the kitchen garden, which is about as local as it gets.
Go there, go to the Orangery or for fine dining, to the Restaurant. Have lunch or afternoon tea on the terrace, go for the traditional roast on Sundays. From the mains on the a la carte menu are Rump of Lamb with Samphire, BBQ Baby Gem , Mashed Potato and Grelots, and Salmon with Giant Couscous, Cavalo Nero, Green Beans and Salsa Verde. The ambience is so relaxed; they like you to have a good time here, and they’re flexible when it comes to accommodating children so there’s a special menu for them; they like to see families dining together. If you’re celebrating something special then hire a private dining room.
Woolley Grange is also popular for its family friendly spa that has an indoor pool, two treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms, and from May to September an outdoor heated pool.
They also have electric car charging here, but you’ll need the POD Point app.
