White Post Café, Langford Budville, nr Wellington, Somerset

This peaceful garden café is up a little track on Langford Common just outside of the village and not far from Wellington. The setting is gorgeous; you can sit in the sun dappled garden with the breeze drifting through the trees and over the hedge are wonderful views of the Blackdown Hills where Wellington Monument rises into the sky.
Come here for breakfast, lunch or for cakes, coffee and tea. They pride themselves on the seasonal, local and artisan products they use and sell and you’ll find things on the menu like focaccia with smoked chicken, leaf salad, mustard aioli and sauerkraut, and salmon fishcakes with crème-fraiche tartare and salad leaves.

Once a month they do an evening supper for feasts and gatherings with friends and family where they serve delights such as stuffed courgettes to start, followed by Spiedini of lamb & rosemary with Sicilian couscous and caponata, and finishing with peach melba and a cheese board.
Whilst you’re here browse around the nursery or take the children to the play area, but keep an eye on them in the garden because there’s an unfenced pond.
You can walk here on footpaths through the fields and lanes from Ham Bottom and Fuzzy Orchard which are only a mile away. It’s not a huge café so it’s best to book.

Open Tues-Sat 9.30 am to 5.00 pm and Sun 11.00 am to 4.00 pm
