Wellington Monument, Wellington, Somerset
If you walk up to Wellington Monument you’ll be amazed at the spectacular panoramic views out over the landscape, stretching right across to Exmoor. This dramatic 175 foot high obelisk stands on Wellington Hill as a tribute to the Duke of Wellington and his victory at the Battle of Waterloo. A wonderful spot for a picnic or just a breather, with a beautiful natural meadow, rich in wildlife; in the autumn it’s a joy to walk through the beech woods.
