The Masons Arms, Branscombe, Devon

Branscombe on the East Devon coast is just the prettiest village; centuries old cottages line the long narrow lane that leads down to the beach; in the summer it’s a profusion of colour from the hanging baskets, utterly picture postcard.
The Masons Arms is just a ten minute stroll from the beach, with a backdrop of lush green fields and hills; call in for a drink after a walk along the cliff tops, go and have lunch or dinner after an afternoon by the sea. They have a good choice of sandwiches and Ploughman’s, and there’s something for everyone on the mains, vegetarians included; Steamed River Exe Mussels & Seasoned Fries, Homemade Steak & Kidney Shortcrust Pie, Chickpea & Pepper Burger. You can even call in for a proper-job Devon Cream Tea and sit outside and watch the comings and goings. They’re strong on fresh and locally sourced produce, which is always the best way. Dogs welcome.
