10/10 - This beautiful house was exactly as described and had everything you could want for a wonderful stay. It was extremely clean and there were some lovely small extra touches. Definitely 10 out of 10 and we would love to return at some point.- Gilmour - Sept 26

10/10 - Crowcombe house was absolutely perfect for my 40th birthday weekend. We went as a family and were glad to have an ensuite in every room! It felt like the amount of guests staying had really been considered and there was plenty of plates, cutlery, kettles and ovens. As a nice extra when we arrived, there was a bottle of prosecco and a lemon cake for us to celebrate my birthday which was greatly appreciated. There was lots to do for the children and we all really enjoyed the swimming pool. Would return. - Timms - Sept 26

10/10 - The perfect place to bring people together! We just returned from a long weekend celebrating my father in laws big birthday, and absolutely loved Crowcombe. There wasn't a single thing you could want, that wasn't provided. The owner thoughtfully left a delicious chocolate cake, bottle of bubbles and even some treats for our dog, to help us all celebrate the big occasion. Beautifully decorated throughout, comfortable and clean and the pool was a godsend in the hot weather. Highly recommend. - Carroll - July 26

8/10 - Great to go somewhere and there were plenty of plates, glasses etc for all of us without having to continually wash up/put the dishwasher on. Everyone had a good night's sleep as the beds were comfortable and towels were large and fluffy! There was plenty of room for our party of 10 - it was lovely to be able to spread out and relax. We were lucky with the weather and were able to make use of the pool and the outdoor area. - Alexander - July 26

9/10 - We had a fantastic holiday staying at Crowcombe. The layout was perfect for our celebrations and having ensuites was the icing on the cake. The showers were great even when many were showering at the same time. The pool was a godsend in this hot weather and the outside space worked well. Would also recommend the Rising Sun Pub in West Bagborough and the Carew Arms in Crowcombe. Thank you for providing the space for a wonderful holiday. - Pearce -Jun 26

10/10 - Stayed at Crowcombe last week for a multi generational birthday celebration (age 4 months to 70 ). The house was immaculately presented and the layout and flow of the rooms worked so well. Kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms spacious and beds comfortable.Towels in the bathrooms were luxurious. Weather wasn't the best so everyone enjoyed use of the pool,football and pool tables . The welcome touches provided by host George (cake,bread,dog treats etc) made the stay more personal.Would definitely stay again. - Beckett - Jun 26

10/10 - We stayed here as a group of 12 ladies and would highly recommend this property. The bedrooms were all spacious, with really comfortable beds, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything needed for self-catering. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it easy for the whole group to relax together. We especially loved the indoor pool great fun for everyone! The location is also convenient, not too far from Taunton. A tip for future guests: using what3words for navigation. - Eades - May 26

9/10 - We had a wonderful stay here celebrating an 80th Birthday with the extended family. The owner was lovely and even greeted us when we arrived. The property is well located near some truly beautiful walks and not far from the medieval church of St Pancras Westborough and Hestercombe house and gardens. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit this idyllic part of Somerset. - Park - Mar 26

10/10 - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crowcombe - we were a large party of 14 (across 3 generations) and the property perfectly suited our needs. Great welcome from the owner on arrival (plus a thoughtful welcome pack). As the weather was fairly good, half our party managed a 2 hour walk over the Quantock hills which they thoroughly enjoyed. The indoor pool provided plenty of entertainment for others, together with a number of matches at the pool table. All in all a great weekend. - Railton - Mar 26

7/10 - We were able to have 4 generations of our family with age range from 4yrs to 95yrs , a large group of 15, thanks to the spaciousness of our lodge. It was my sons 40th birthday on the sat and we were able to get everything we needed for his party from the supermarkets fairly close by. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds really comfortable. Visited during a storm so stayed in for most of the weekend but had an amazing time. 10/10 - The house is just incredible. We absolutely loved our stay, because we spent so much on the holiday we just spent all of our time in the house. The pool was definitely worth it. 10/10 - We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Shires for a 40th birthday celebration. The house was perfectly designed for a large group. It had all the facilities needed in the kitchen and a lovely large dining table. All showers were excellent. All appliances and facilities were high-spec. The pool area was amazing and this made our weekend. We were also able to use the hut outside and toasted marshmallows. The outside area is fabulous and the view can be seen from the dining room and the bedrooms upstairs. I imagine it would be amazing in the summer with some nice weather. The host was great and showed us around the house on our arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay and would highly recommend the Shires. Thank you. - Simpson - March 24
