Whitehaven Reviews

10/10 - A great place to spend time all together as a family making very special memories. -Widdowson - April 2018

10/10 - Lovely property in a great location. The manager's manner was slightly abrupt. We visited Symonds Yat and Beechenhurst Forest Park.- Wood - April 2018

10/10 - Clean and well catered for cottage, unexpectedly good weather, only wished for a parasol at one point. The well looked after pool was much appreciated. We would definitely rebook on a future occasion. We walked the Sculpture Trail.- Marsh - April 2018

9/10 - Loved the countryside and forest. Only improvements needed are prevention of wild boar from turning over any unfenced land, (where do they hide in the day?) and could you move the entire thing 150 miles east along the motorways. We visited Puzzlewood, though not for those with mobility issues, and dogs are not allowed.- Green - April 2018

8/10 - Swimming pool was a big draw for us and much used. Only issue was lounge did not comfortably accommodate 10 adults; had to use dining room chairs.- Austwick - April 2018

10/10 - The pool is the key USP for this property apart from it being of a very good standard. Would recommend to anyone for a family gathering as ours was - a 70th Birthday.- Housden - April 2018

9/10 - Collins - April 2018

10/10 - Excellent house for all ages. We all used the pool and the play equipment kept the grandchildren entertained. The owners seem to have thought of everything you might need. Only problem we had was unable to get a phone signal in the house but thats not the fault of the house or the owner. We can recommend Chepstow Castle and Taurus Crafts- Houghton - April 2018

10/10 - Loved the house and all the fantastic facilities it had which suited all ages. Particularly loved the dressing gowns, two fridges and dishwashers. The swimming pool was superb, really warm and a good size, good to have a toilet in the pool area. The garden was very safe for the children and dog and they loved the climbing frame and trampoline. Lovely walks from the house and all very quiet. Also easy for cycling and going to get papers and milk. Can't think of anything we would have liked that you don't supply. Thank you. - Gane - March 2018

9/10 -The house was perfect and the swimming pool was so lovely and warm, everyone enjoyed the break.- Doherty - March 2018

9/10 - We really enjoyed our stay at Whitehaven with a large group of friends and babies. It was the perfect location for a catch up weekend where everything had been thought of. The kitchen was so well stocked, the bedrooms large and spacious and the swimming pool clean and a great size. We can’t think of anything that could have improved our stay. We even went for a walk at the Forest of Dean Heritage Centre. Thank you!Orgill Family - February

10/10 - Layout of house perfect, having different areas for activities worked well for mixed age group. One disappointment, we found the board games on the last day.....in the otterman in the downstairs bedroom, would have been useful on the wet day we had. Recommended - Family cycle trail in the Forest of Dean. Bicycles can be hired just five miles from the house. Perfect for all ages 7 to 70. Take a picnic if you can, lovely spot near the end of the Ride at Cannop WharfBaldwin Family - February 2018

10/10 - The property was spacious, very well appointed, perfectly presented, in a great location and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Nearby Puzzlewood is excellent and we had a fun day on the Forest of Dean Railway. Plus of course walks (runs/cycles) in the beautiful forest. - Flint Family - June 2017

The pool was great and the outside house with the heater was lovely to be outside whatever the weather for drinks etc. We celebrated a 65th birthday, family just stayed over the weekend and we enjoyed the pool and cooked some great food in the big kitchen! - Williams Family - June 2017

10/10 - A fantastic property for all the family, wonderful pool, bbq area and gardens. Couldn't fault it. We would recommend days out to Forest of Dean Railway and Pennygrove Railway - Davis Family - May 2017

10/10 - The house was fabulous. Very clean and modern inside. The pool was a bonus and was used a lot by all. We visited Go Ape in the Forest of Dean. Fantastic day out for the family for our age group ranging from 11 - 73! Lovely walks through the woods as well.  - Dickson Family - April 2017

10/10 - We enjoyed the whole experience, from the house to the pool and the garden. The house was well furnished with good quality furniture and the kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed our week-end from start to finish, nothing would have improved the experience. - Rees - March 2017

9/10 - All our family loved Whitehaven, which was beautifully furnished, clean & welcoming; it was also very well equipped. Loved the layout of the house & garden which was particularly good with 2 young children. King - March 2017

10/10 - A perfect place for a family to spend a week and have their own space to be alone but still be close to the family for meals and social time. No need to leave the house, it has everything. Davies - March 2017

10/10 - Accommodation first class & extremely well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the lovely pool & the pool table. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend it. - Nichol - Feb 2017

A lovely house. had a great time here. Love the pool and Hobbit house (dining pavilion). Thank you Todd Party

Whitehaven was perfect for all three generations. As we were visiting in January, we chose it for the heated indoor swimming pool, which was enjoyed by all.
We also hired a chef for one night, which was lovely. I would certainly return and recommend the house for a family stay. The surrounding area was lovely to visit. 10/10
