Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury, Gloucestershire

Westonbirt near Tetbury is known as the National Arboretum and is renowned throughout the globe for its outstanding collection of over 15,000 labelled trees (that’s 2,500 different types of trees) from all over the world.  Established in Victorian times, the 600 acres at Westonbirt are the most peaceful and relaxing environment in which to wander and take in the beautiful surroundings and wildlife. Now managed by the Forestry Commission, Westonbirt consists of three areas, one of which is a dog free zone, and include formal pleasure gardens. The Arboretum is famous for its spectacular Autumn colours, and in spring, for its breathtakingly colourful displays of magnolia, azaleas and rhododendrons. This is an enjoyable, relaxing day out for all, with family fun trails and events throughout the summer.
