The White Hart, Sherborne, Dorset

If you fancy down-to-earth and unpretentious food and ambience when you’re mooching about in Sherborne, go to the White Hart and have a pint of jolly good ale and some decent grub.
It's just what you’d expect in a traditional British pub – heaps of character, flagstone floors, original wooden beams, a friendly welcome and tasty home cooked food. Steak and kidney suet pudding, sausage and mash, Birchstead rump steak, lamb shank…. you get the picture. Vegetarians will be delighted with the choice they have – Mediterranean risotto, nut roast, vegetarian chilli; plus there’s a good choice of burgers and sandwiches, and a children’s menu.
The atmosphere is upbeat, which is partly why the locals love it; they have live music on Wednesday nights and on Fridays they play cheesy hits from the 70’s to the 90’s. And do you know what? Sometimes it’s good to go along to these things, let your hair down and have a bit of fun.
