The Frome Independent, Frome, Somerset

On the first Sunday of each month from March to December the streets of Frome are alive and bustling with the merry atmosphere of the Frome Independent. This is the place to be if you like independent crafts and vintage, and if you’re a foodie, well, boy oh boy, you are in for a treat.
You’ll find some of the best food producers in the South West here selling their wares – cheese, cakes, sausage rolls and pies, bread, fudge, cider, gin and kimchi. If you’re hungry the choice is amazing with street food giving you a good taste of world flavours from Japanese and Tibetan to Chinese and Mexican. The whole of the main car park is given over to a huge French style flea market with live music and entertainment, and the high street is lined with stalls that snake their way right up to the top of St Catherine’s Hill where you’ll find several quirky one-off shops to boot. It’s one big upbeat happy vibe – though be warned, it gets very busy, especially in the summer months, which is why they have a park and ride service in place.
