The Cider Barn, Pembridge, Leominster, Herefordshire

The Cider Barn is set in a 450 year old barn just outside of Pembridge; the ethos here is simple – to reflect the beauty and simplicity of the Herefordshire countryside in everything they do. And that’s exactly how it is, with very tasteful surroundings, gorgeous views over the fields, and seriously good food and drink sourced from local suppliers or made using the abundance of produce to be found in the county. The feels are relaxed, with an open fire keeping everyone nice and warm in the winter, and a sunny terrace for the warmer months.

They run a full A La Carte menu and a café menu, and also serve nibbles and a range of drinks including craft beers and cider from local producers. The A La carte menu has mains of Poached Skate with shrimp and caper beurre noisette, barley risotto and charred leeks, and Treacle cured Hereford beef sirloin and cheek with parmesan puree, pommes anna and sautéed chicory and kale. On the café menu are mains like Venison meatballs with smoked pommes puree and braised red cabbage, and Roasted goats cheese with Jerusalem artichoke risotto and fennel salad. Either way, it’s nothing short of divine.
