The Black Swan Hotel, Devizes, Wiltshire

The Black Swan Hotel is a traditional coach house built in 1737, right in the middle of Devizes, so handy if you’re pootling about round the shops or filling your basket with delights at the market. They open at 10.00 am so you can go for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
As you’d expect with a building that old, there’s oodles of character; the ambience is relaxed, the service happy and smiley, and the food very tasty. All good reasons to give it a try. They have a gluten free main menu as well as the standard main menu, both with similar offerings; on the latter are sandwiches, grazing deli boards and bowls, burger sliders, rotisserie chicken, house classics like fish & chips, pie of the day and sausage and mash, and meatless dishes for those who choose to eat that way. The Sunday roast and the West Country Cheeseboard are both very popular, beer is of course from the local Wadworth brewery, a fine pint indeed.
