If you’re up at Dunkeswell Aerodrome on the Blackdown Hills for a flying lesson or flight experience, or just to watch the planes come and go and the parachuting, you should go to The Aviator Coffee Bar & Restaurant because there are views over the airfield and whilst it’s not fine dining by any means, it’s a nice place to spend time and be a part of it all.
If you go early on in the day you can have a good cooked breakfast; at lunchtime, there’s a menu of toasties, paninis, baked potatoes and sharing platters, and a good choice of home cooked mains like chilli, macaroni cheese, sausage and mash, and ham, egg and chips. On Sundays, they do a 4 meat carvery on Sunday which is proving to be very popular.
