Manor House Golf Club sits snugly on the edge of Castle Combe, amidst 365 acres of glorious Cotswold countryside, which is surely enough to lure any keen golfers in for a day. The championship 18 hole course has spectacular fairways lined with mature oaks and beech trees; the greens are immaculately kept, as you’d expect, and to cap it all, the River Bybrook merrily meanders through the middle of the course. A beautiful setting indeed. The Halfway Hut is something else – a converted Airstream trailer, all lovely and shiny; a great place to stop for a drink and a snack. If you can bear to give it a miss, hold out for a bit to eat at The Clubhouse after your game. Or do both.
