Langport Boat Hire, Langport, Somerset
We love Langport Boat Hire because we maintain that sometimes, there’s nothing better than a few hours spent messing about on the river. And if that’s the sort of thing that, if you’ll excuse the pun, seriously floats your boat too then this is one activity you really ought to do whilst you’re down this way on your large group holidays in Somerset.
Go for a paddle on the River Parrett in a 2 seater Canadian canoe, a two person or single sit on kayak, or on a paddle board. Explore the Somerset Levels from a totally different perspective, take in the picturesque scenery and keep an eye out for wildlife – herons, swans, barn owls, kingfishers have all been spotted, not to mention rarities like cranes and otters.
Paddle up to the viaduct to the east of Langport, or in the other direction, to Muchelney where you can see the Priest’s House, the hallowed abbey ruins, and the naughty angels painted on the wagon roof of the parish church in the 17th century. Round off your day by driving out to the Halfway House at Pitney for dinner; perfect.
