Kitchen at Quantock Lakes, Nether Stowey, Bridgwater, Somerset
Kitchen at Quantock Lakes has been getting a lot of attention in this part of Somerset ever since it opened, but that’s not surprising because the food is very good, the service is the happy smiley sort we all like, and well, it’s just a good place to hang out whether you’re meeting with friends for breakfast or coffee, or going for a special occasion.
Inside there two dining rooms spread out over two floors; Kitchen at Quantock Lakes has a very relaxed ambience, no doubt a combination of the good vibes from contented customers and from the décor, which is very of-the-moment - wooden floors, gorgeous earthy colours, rustic touches. They’re not short on outdoor space here either, so it’s the kind of place you can come to anytime of year and the chances are you’ll want to linger. On the ground floor there’s enough alfresco seating for 120 people and upstairs, there’s a roomy balcony and if you can grab a table there on a glorious summer day you’re in for a treat and a half because you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy the wonderful outlook of the Quantock Hills.
The far reaching views of the Somerset countryside are a huge bonus of Kitchen at Quantock Lakes, as well as the handy location just off the A39 at Nether Stowey. People come here for the food though, because they want a good environment to eat and chat together, and that’s exactly what they get. Come for lunch and you’ll have a choice of things like a Fishfinger sandwich, Shin of beef chilli, Grilled Halloumi ciabatta, Baked macaroni cheese, and pizzas. There’s a menu for the younger folk, and you’ll find scrumptious cakes and tea and coffee on the go all day; the good thing is it’s all made using local produce as much as possible.
If you think Kitchen at Quantock Lakes would be a nice place to come of an evening, well, you’re in luck because they have regular events on Friday and Saturday nights; Paella Nights, Tapas Nights, Greek Nights, even a British Beef Night. If you’re staying close by to celebrate a big birthday and have folk in the area, there’s event space you can hire here too. oh yes, they got it all goin’ on.
