Highcliffe-on-Sea, Christchurch, Dorset
A rather stunning part of the Dorset coastline, with views to the Isle of Wight and Bournemouth, just 5 minutes from the New Forest, so if you’re planning a large group holiday in Hampshire make this part of your itinerary. People come here for a day out by the sea and it’s easy to see why; zigzaggy paths lead from the clifftop car park down to the award winning sand and shingle beaches, great for swimming, water sports or just soaking up the rays. There are wildlife rich nature reserves to explore, and a nice walk of about two and a half miles from Highcliffe clifftop to Highcliffe Castle where you can see the incredible stately rooms and chill out in the grounds.
Take a picnic or go for a bite to eat at Amberwood Inn, Beach Hut Café, or Cliffhanger Café.
