Bournemouth, Dorset

Golden sands, panoramic sea views, tropical gardens, and gorgeous Victorian architecture; a multitude of restaurants, cafes and bars, great shops, family amusements, museums, galleries, theatres …. Bournemouth has the lot! There’s heaps going on with family friendly events and festivals throughout the year, and a buzzing nightlife when the sun goes down. Stroll along the iconic pier, or if you’re feeling adventurous have a go on the exhilarating pier to shore zip wire; wander through the town gardens, catch a concert at the Pine Walk Bandstand, take the land train out to the lovely Italianette Gardens at Boscombe – or stop for a game of mini golf.  A visit to this jewel in Dorset’s South Coast makes a superb day out for all ages.

Where's good to eat? Phew! Take your pick! We're told that Alfies is the best for fish and chips, Lolas Restaurant is great for Mediterranean and Spanish food, Moose Kitchen for Canadian and International, and Steam Vintage Tea Rooms and All Things Nice for tea and cake and that. For pubs and bars try the Goat and Tricycle or the Libertine, or if you like retro, Chaplin's & The Cellar Bar.
