Downclose Stables, North Perrot, Crewkerne, Somerset
Perhaps one of the best ways to get out there in the gorgeous Somerset countryside is on a pony trek with Downclose Stables. Their base is in the sleepy village of North Perrott where they have indoor and outdoor arenas as well as the stabling, and for more accomplished riders, there’s a very good cross country course. So, book up for treks through the verdant fields and winding country lanes; there are horses to suit varying sizes, and they’ll do lead reign rides for younger children (age 3 years+). You get all the necessary safety equipment and of course, instructors are all suitably qualified and experienced.
