Croftview - Accommodation
A long private drive takes you to Croftview, through arable parkland and glorious open countryside, before gates open onto a large courtyard; park up and let your holiday begin. Step into the light and airy hallway at Croftview and straight ahead is a WC and one of two contemporary staircases leading to the first floor. Off to the left is the games room where there's a pool table and air hockey, a big TV and beanbags to lounge on. Hang out there together and when it’s warm open the doors and bring the sunshine in.
Off the games room a short hallway leads to the spa hall, an amazing space where light floods in through floor to ceiling windows (you can see out but no one can see in), and chunky oak timbers soar to the roof. Centre place is the pool, at the far end there's a sunken hot tub and sauna, to the other, changing rooms, a shower and WC. If you've got younger children with you it's reassuring to know that the doors to the spa hall have a safety lock.
To the right of the hall is the commodious L-shaped open-plan living space, seriously big on wow factor. A long handcrafted dining table stands in front of bifold doors that open onto the garden, perfect for big happy feasts any time of year. If you don't fancy doing the catering just book one of the professional caterers listed on our Extras page; they'll fix you up with a celebration dinner, or cocktails and canapes - whatever you like.
The kitchen is super stylish and very well-equipped with plenty of storage space; round the corner is the living room area, with a whopper of a sofa so you can all sit comfy for a movie night or to cheer on your favourite team in that all-important big match. Come back from a winter walk in the woods, light the wood-burner and snuggle round. Further on is another hallway with the second staircase and a utility room; beyond this is Bedroom 1 (Robin), access friendly with an ensuite wet room.
At the top of the first staircase a long landing runs round the house; to the right, with ensuite shower rooms are Bedrooms 8 (Squirrel) and 9 (Pheasant). To the left is Bedroom 7 (Kingfisher) which has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, and Bedroom 6 (Hare) with its own shower room. Carry on along the landing to Bedrooms 2-5, all with ensuite shower rooms. With the exception of Bedroom 10 (Barn Owl), all the bedrooms have zip and link beds that can be arranged as super kings or twins; Note that Bedroom 6 (Hare) can accommodate an optional extra guest bed at an additional charge.
Follow the second staircase to Bedrooms 10 (Barn Owl) and 11 (Fox) on the top floor; those views over the Somerset countryside just keep getting better and better! Both these rooms have ensuite bathrooms with a free-standing bath and a walk-in shower. Bedroom 10 has a super king bed and room for an optional extra guest bed and a double sofa bed, and Bedroom 11 has zip and link beds (super king or twin) and an optional extra guest bed.
Take the first staircase to the top floor to Bedrooms 12 (Blue Tit) and 13 (Stag), which both have ensuite bathrooms with a free-standing bath and a walk-in shower. Bedroom 12 has room for an optional extra guest bed and a double sofa bed; bear in mind that whilst there's a choice of extra beds, you can only use 4 of them - but it gives you several options and works well for families. At the top of both stairs on this floor there's a small kitchen, so you can pop out and make a cup of tea, get back in bed and take in those wonderful views.
At the back of the house there's a large terrace where you can dine alfresco or enjoy evening cocktails. There’s plenty of space for children to play, plus outdoor table tennis and a play fort. Follow the path across the garden to Charlotte's Web, a rustic hut built into the hillside. Beneath the fairy lights there's seating for 30 people to gather round the firepit; a huge window gives you wonderful views of hills and woods and big open fields. Just beyond the garden there's an orchard where happy chickens live; collect eggs for breakfast, apples to make a pie for pudding. What's good is that the garden and front courtyard are secure and gated so you can relax and enjoy the fresh air and all that glorious scenery without having to worry about children or dogs escaping. Boxes ticked all round! Book your stay today!
