Cricket Malherbie, Somerset

The tiny hamlet of Cricket Malherbie is tucked away down a long winding lane in the beautiful countryside of South Somerset, just a few miles from the market towns of Chard and Ilminster. It’s quiet and peaceful, and the views of miles and miles of farmland and hills interspersed with small woodlands are breathtaking. There are only a few houses – quaint thatched cottages, a gorgeous farmhouse, barns that date back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, and a stunning Grade II listed Regency folly with a gatehouse built from local stone. There’s a pretty little church and some lovely walks across fields and around narrow lanes; the New Inn at Dowlish Wake is just a short stroll away.
