You don’t often see a distillery on a farm but such is the field to bottle ethic at Chase Distillery that they decided it was the best place for it. This family run business produces award winning gin and vodka from potatoes and apples grown on the farm in the glorious Herefordshire countryside; it’s an interesting place to visit so earmark it as something to book up for your Sleeps12 large group holiday or self catering corporate break.
They do Distillery Tours where you find out a few of their little secrets with a behind the scenes peek at the mashing, fermenting and distilling processes, and of course you get to try what they make too so you’ll need to think about who’s driving or book a taxi in advance. You get a full sized GB gin and tonic followed by a tutored tasting and rounded off with a sprightly Pink Grapefruit gin and tonic.
The shop is open all week but tours run at different times each day and not at all on Mondays so bear that in mind in any case, you should book rather than just turn up, especially if there’s a big group of you. The only other provisos are no under 18’s and make sure you wear sensible shoes; high heels and sandals won’t do.
