Bridgwater and Taunton Canal Cycle Path, North Newton, Bridgwater, Somerset

The Bridgwater & Taunton Canal Cycle Path in Somerset is part of the Sustrans National Cycle Route 3 and runs for 14 miles from Bridgwater to Taunton, taking in some of the most peaceful open countryside and low lying villages along the way. It’s a good one for families as it’s safe and the going is easy; there are 6 locks on the route, old brick bridges, and pubs and cafes – like the Maunsel Lock Canal Centre & Tea Rooms. Take your time, enjoy it all, and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife like kingfishers, herons, dragonflies and damselflies. A lovely part of the world.
