Go to Annie’s Burger Shack and make like it’s New England! Annie was born and raised in Rhode Island so she knows a thing or two about classic American diners. This one’s in a lovely historic building in the Lace market in the heart of Nottingham – but that’s another story. Inside is lots of mellow wood and exposed brickwork with tables and booths – true diner style.
So, go and fill your bellies when you’re up this way on your large group holidays in Nottingham; have a wander round the ancient oaks in Sherwood Forest, let the fresh air whip up an appetitie and then head into town for a classic American brunch or a burger. And what will it be? Maybe the Boston Nibbler (double or single burger, Swiss and Cheddar cheese slices, beer battered onion rings, grilled pineapple, American style bacon and their signature burger sauce), the BB King (grilled chicken breast with a hickory smoked barbecue sauce and fresh coriander) or the Key West Cubano (burger patty with citrus spiced marinated Cubano pork, grilled sweet pickles, double Swiss cheese, deli style ham, salami and Frenchie’s American mustard). There are burgers for vegetarians and vegans too, and they’re all cooked to order with a choice of skin on fries, curly fries, homemade Cajun or salted wedges.
