We are so happy to introduce Fern Manor to you – the latest Addition to the Sleeps12 collection of luxury large group holiday houses in the UK. Book a stay here and you’ll be lapping up the luxury with your own spa hall with a heated pool, hot tub and sauna, a games room, tennis court, putting green, croquet lawn and children’s play area. 10 individually styled bedrooms sleep 20, the setting is a hillside on the edge of a village at the foot of the Mendip Hills in Somerset.

Big and beautiful, fun and fabulous, lush and luxurious – that’s Fern Manor. We can tell you now that if we had the time to have a trial stay at all of our properties, we would be fighting tooth and claw over this one. Take a look at the gallery and you’ll see why; darlings, it’s divine! Victorian grandeur, traditional country house, mid-century and modern all come together in harmony; it’s sumptuous, it’s glitzy and glamorous, and at times, it’s a little quirky. We love it – it’s unique.

But it’s not just that. This is a house that’s got the lot, and we mean THE lot. Talk about something for all ages – get this: a stunning spa hall with a heated pool, hot tub, sauna, changing rooms, comfy seating area, and even a small kitchen. A massive roof terrace with a putting green, a games room with a snooker table, a fascinating collection of sports memorabilia, and to soothe and restore, a massage chair. And a tennis court with balls and rackets supplied, a basketball hoop and football goals for the young ‘uns – as if the play area and treehouse aren’t enough! There’s a croquet lawn, a nature trail, 3 living rooms, 2 kitchens, a breakfast room, and a fabulously formal dining room that really sets the scene for any special celebration dinner.

Those bedrooms. Each one is individually styled, all are named after birds. Bedroom 1 is Peacock Room, finished in rich blue tones, Bedroom 8 is Butterfly Room, with fresh pastel hues, Bedroom 10 (Dove Room) is deep plummy, berry shades, with a carved four poster bed and a very unusual antique chest. And here’s a heads up – Bedroom 5 (Bee Room) is fit for a king; it’s enormous and is so sophisticated with all its white and gold and a glamorous French style bed.

The beauty of Fern Manor is that there’s room to gather together, absolutely there is, but if you don’t necessarily want to hang out en masse for the whole of your stay, it’s easy to find your own space. There are 3 living rooms, so try them all; put your feet up in the pretty Purple Living Room with its’ velvet sofas, SKY TV and a woodburning stove for the colder days. Hide away in the sumptuous Green Living Room, curl up with a book from the library, stretch out and watch TV, eat your lunch up here at the table in the bay window. With heritage blue walls giving a cosier feel, The Study is a distinguished room with a richly carved desk and a woodburner – just the place for after a blustery walk in the hills.

The spa hall is a dream, and is exclusively yours for the whole of your stay. To idle the hours away here is to truly unwind – a few lengths of the pool, a soak in the hot tub, a rejuvenating sauna, and in between, well, you can just relax because it’s so well considered that there’s even a corner to sit comfy, and a small kitchen.

Top up your tan on the roof terrace, perfect your putt on the green, pausing only to admire the glorious views over the Somerset countryside. There’s so much to do here, so much to keep you smiling; the kids will love the play area, the trampoline, the tree house and the nature trail, you can slow right down with a game of croquet, and oh yes, anyone for tennis? Balls and rackets are supplied, you can mix it up on the court with football and basketball practice.

It’s unlikely that you’ll feel the need to go anywhere else, lovely as this part of Somerset is. If you’re not sure, bear in mind that there’s a lot you can see and do nearby – sandy beaches, award winning family attractions, good places to eat, activities, and of course, walks, walks, walks. You could take a jaunt to Cheddar Caves and Gorge, to Wookey Hole or Puxton Park. You could go and soak up the hallowed history of Wells Cathedral, The moated Bishop’s Palace and Glastonbury Abbey. You could puff your way up to the top of Glastonbury Tor, or to the summit of Black Down, the highest point in the Mendips – the views will knock your socks off.

But you don’t have to go anywhere else at all, after all, why would you, when you’ve got everything you need right here at Fern Manor and you’re all SO happy, lording it up and loving every moment? So come for those unforgettable holidays with friends and family, come for special celebrations with the people you love most in the whole world, carve out time to truly be together and make memories to hold on to. These are precious times.
