Trafalgar Square, London

Everyone’s heard of Trafalgar Square, it’s that place in the middle of London where Nelson’s Column stands, where the famous fountains and the lion statues are, and where the crowds gather to see in the New Year. It’s where there’s always an upbeat air, as if everyone has a spring in their step, and it’s where rallies, demonstrations and protests are often held. The square is surrounded by cafes, museums and galleries with several striking historic buildings including the church of Martin-in-the-Fields and The National Gallery; both are well worth a visit if you're in that part of town.
