If you fancy a bike ride when you’re on holiday in the New Forest get yourselves down to The Woods Cyclery in Lyndhurst and hire some wheels; they’ve got quite a choice – adult premium suspension, E-MTB, electric hybrids, child cycles, child seats, and hire includes helmets, a backpack, pump, lock, toolkit and mobile mechanic back up, which is handy to know.
The team at The Woods Cyclery can advise on good routes and they have maps you can buy; the Tall trees Trail is 13 miles and the Denny Wood trail is slightly shorter at 11 miles, but you know, you can do as much or as little as you want, go at your own pace. Take a picnic or find a pub or tea shop where you can stop off for sustenance.
