All the spirit of a traditional country inn, even though the décor is more modern; it blends well with the original bits – the thick stone walls and beams, and the wood-burning stove. The Woodman Inn is just a few miles from Lydney in the Forest of Dean; you can sit outside if the sun is shining, and dogs are welcome. Food is pub classics a good choice of burgers, steaks, lasagne, curry and temptations like Seared Salmon Fillet on a Bed of Sautéed Tomatoes with Mixed Peppers and Tzatziki Sauce, and Seared Rump of Lamb with Sautéed Potatoes, Seasonal Greens, Beetroot Puree and Red Currant Jus.
