The White Hart, Castle Cary, Somerset
The White Hart in the middle of Castle Cary has recently had a revamp so it’s not quite as traditional inside – they’ve brought it up to date with modern furnishings and lots of trendy deer themed accessories. It’s one of those friendly town pubs where locals go for a pint or to watch the latest big match, and where visitors rock up for a bite to eat. The atmosphere is jolly and the grub is hearty pub fodder at very reasonable prices; have a panini, a jacket potatoes, or a burger for lunch and if it’s a nice day eat it in the courtyard garden out the back.
Hang about for a game of pool, and if you like people watching, sit out the front and watch the comings and goings in the street.
