The Weyside, Guildford, Surrey

The Weyside stands on the banks of the River Wey in Guildford, just a short stroll from the town centre. It’s a cheerful place, with a big open bar and a nice airy conservatory, as well as a waterside beer garden; they do regular acoustic nights and DJ nights, so it’s one that pulls the locals as well as visitors.
Food is seasonal British fare with a roast on Sundays. If you fancy a sandwich you can choose from the likes of Roast beef, Beer battered fishfinger, and Hot Cumberland sausage. The All Day Menu is rather tempting - Cider braised pork belly, a good old Chicken casserole, Slow cooked lamb shank, and Beetroot, lentil and Mozzarella burger are a few of the things we spotted. They have a menu especially for the younger folk and they serve afternoon tea, so when you’ve finished browsing the shops go and relax with tea and cake by the river. Nice.
