The Granary - Accommdation
The wow factor greets you as soon as you step inside at the Granary; go into the entrance lobby and to the left is the pool hall with room around the edge for loungers, and huge doors that you can pull right back to bring the outdoors in on warmer days.
Right of the hall is the enormous open-plan living space with a big kitchen that has been designed to take the stress out of catering for a large group. If you’re here for a special occasion hire tried and tested private caterers from our list of suppliers (see Extras); they’ll come and cook up a scrumptious celebration feast for you, or serve you canapes and cocktails on the patio. The long bespoke dining table will seat you all, so pile it high, gather round and tuck in. When you’re full put your feet up on the commodious U-shape sofa and settle down for an evening of TV or movies.
Next to the kitchen is the games area with a pool table and a big TV with Sky; what's great is that you can all be together in this vast living space, catching up with one another and relaxing as a group. You can cook, have a glass of wine, chat, sing and dance! The whole of the living/entertaining area is flooded with natural light from floor to ceiling windows and doors that open out onto the patio. Warm oak beams, feature brick walls and country themed accessories add to the ambience.
Off the games area there's a utility room and WC, and beyond this is Bedroom 1, access friendly with an ensuite shower room and doors that open onto the patio at the side of the house. On the first floor are Bedrooms 2-7; like all bedrooms at The Granary these have zip and link beds that can be arranged as super kings or twins. Bedrooms 2, 3, 4 and 6 all have ensuite shower rooms and Bedroom 2 has the bonus of a Juliette balcony. 5 and 7 have ensuite bathrooms with separate showers, 6 and 7 both have room for an extra guest bed (charged per person).
On the second floor are Bedrooms 8 and 9, both with ensuite shower rooms, a free standing in-room bath, Juliette balconies and room for 2 extra guest beds (charged). These rooms have shared use of a kitchenette - very handy as it's a long way down to the main kitchen; if you use these rooms as family rooms and you have babies it's not far to go to for bottles, etc.
Outside the huge patio has plenty of seating and an outdoor kitchen with a built-in charcoal barbecue, a sink and room for slicing and dicing. Wander off for a splash in the pool whenever you feel like it; that's the beauty of it, everything you need is right there, no traipsing off anywhere with all your gear, it's all just a few steps away, and it's all yours to enjoy. Just outside the pool room is the hot tub; sit back by and have a natter beneath cornflower blue skies by day, and in the evening, under a canopy of stars.
Younger children will have heaps of room to run about and a climbing frame to play on. Even if the weather is misbehaving it's certainly won’t spoil your stay because apart from the indoor pool and the games area, there's a Nordic style BBQ lodge, where you can sit round beneath the twinkly lights with reindeer hides to keep you warm; toast marshmallows, sizzle sausages, cook foil wrapped potatoes in the embers.
