The Cadeleigh Arms, Cadeleigh, Tiverton

Tucked away in the hills up above the River Exe, The Cadeleigh Arms has been featured in the Estrella Dam Top 50 Gastropubs, so you know for sure that if you come here to eat, you’re in for a treat. The ethos is local and sustainable, with produce sourced from the bounty of suppliers in the South West, focusing on a shorter journey from field to fork.

Menus change with the seasons and feature old school classics with a creative modern twist, dishes like Pan seared chicken breast with black kale, spianata and squash and herb oil, Cornish hake fillet with fennel, courgette, sorrel and langoustine sauce, and Devon Roby 10oz rib-eye steak with watercress and fries, and peppercorn and brandy sauce. Vegans are well catered for with the likes of Charred aubergine, rice noodles, glazed tofu and Thai green sauce, or Chickpea tagine with apricots, mint and lightly spiced tomatoes. On Sundays, roasts come onto the menu too – Devonshire topside of beef, Thorner’s Farm lamb rump, Local chicken breast and Nut roast. If you’ve got your pet pooch in tow, there’s even a doggy menu.

When the sun is shining there’s nothing better than to sit out in the garden with gorgeous views over the Devon countryside before you; in the colder months, rest happily indoors, the warmth of the fire to keep you snug. Whatever the season, whatever the weather, there’s a smiley face to greet you and service is attentive; they know how to make you feel welcome at The Cadeleigh Arms.
