JandJ Alpacas, Dry Doddington, Newark, Nottinghamshire

Take time out at JandJ Alpacas near Newark, which is a very good place to be. Get there early for something from the all day breakfast menu, pick your seat in the coffee shop and tuck in whilst watching the happy alpacas grazing in the paddock just outside.

Walk off your brekkie with a wander round; say hello to the alapcas, discover the woodland walk and the two spring fed ponds. If you’re very, very quiet for a moment or two who knows what you might see? All kinds of wild creatures live on this 23 acre farm; look out for dragonflies dancing over the waters in the summer and butterflies in the hedgerows.

If you come later on in the day head to the coffee shop for lunch or tea and cake; have a browse in the gift shop where there are lots of lovely alpaca related things – scarves, hats, socks, cuddly toys and things you never knew you wanted, like alpaca cookie cutters and aprons!

They offer experiences at JandJ Alpacas; the meet and greet is an opportunity to get up close to these furry friends and to learn more about them, or you can opt for Alpaca Trekking through the woods and around the ponds, such a wonderful way to pass the time.

Free parking but dogs must stay at home.
