Exmoor Owl & Hawk Centre, near Minehead, Somerset

You can come to this owl and hawl centre on Exmoor whatever the weather’s doing because they have an indoor flying barn and a tea room for refreshments. Of course, it’s always better when the sun is shining, and if it is, you can enjoy your lunch in the picnic area. Day visitors can watch get up close to the raptors and watch them fly above their heads, or go and see the alpacas and the kune kune pigs.
They have over a dozen types of owl here, as well as a buzzard, Palm Nut vulture, Tawny eagle and two Harris hawks. The setting is magical; a beautiful 15th century farmhouse in the prettiest gardens, with colourful macaws flying free. They might come looking for crumbs when you’re sat in the tea garden tucking into your scones and admiring the glorious countryside.

Open:  Good Fri – end Sept from 12.30pm  They take pre-booked groups in the mornings and in the winter.  Daily displays for visitors start at 2pm
