Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway, Exbury, New Forest, Hampshire

You can’t fail to feel uplifted when you go to Exbury Gardens near Beaulieu in the New Forest; there are 200 acres to explore, with a dazzling display of rhododendrons, azaleas and camelias in the spring, and a picturesque landscape of blazing colours in the autumn.  Wander over 20 miles of meandering pathways through woods and parkland, around the ponds and along the river; see the Heather Gardens, the Daffodil Meadow, the Sundial Garden and Dragonfly Pond, have a ride on the Steam Railway. There’s an adventure play area and trails for the young ‘uns and to top it all off you can go and have tea in and cakes in Mr Eddys’ Tea Rooms; what a brilliant day out.
