Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, Herefordshire

5,000 acres of typically English parkland just half an hour or so from Worcester on the edge of the Cotswolds with a  deer park, arboretum, and lake. There are trails and walks and incredible views out over the countryside. For the kids there’s a Knight’s Maze, Junior Assault Course, and an Adventure Playground. Inside it’s full of all the things you’d expect to find in a fairytale castle; medieval armour, fine art and antique furniture.
A visit to Eastnor Castle makes a good family day out; you can take a picnic and find a nice spot to spread your rug, or go to the tea rooms. Because it’s such a high profile venue for weddings and events, it’s only open to visitors on certain days from Easter to September; for 2018 you can go there on Bank Holidays in May, every Sunday and Monday during June, on Sundays from the 1st -15th July, every Sunday and Thursday from 22nd July to 30th August, and every Sunday throughout September.
