Dingles Fairground, Lifton, Devon

Go to Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, near Lifton on the Devon and Cornwall border and you'll find over 45,000 square feet of indoor displays; it's a proper job, vintage style working fairground all brought to life with the sights, sounds and smells just like it used to be, back in the day when your Grandad was a nipper. Talk about the fun of the fair - there's a barrel load of it here, which is why it makes such a brilliant day out for families - the kids will love the rides, the older folk will enjoy reminiscing.

Have a go on the Coconut Shy, use up your spare change in the Vintage Penny Arcade. and just wait 'til you get in the Original Hall of Mirrors - you'll be laughing your socks off! You can see a Time Tunnel that sets out the history of fairs from Victorian times, genuine Fairground Organs, and Showman's Living Wagons from back then - it's incredible! And the rides! England's largest working Dodgem ride, a 1930's Moonrocket, a Giant 1930's Motorcycle Speedway, Traditional Galloping Horses, a Classic 1940's Ghost Train and several Vintage Children's Rides! Have a bite to eat in the Carousel Cafe and go to the gift shop to buy a souvenir to take home. What a fab day out.
