Brandon Hill, Bristol, Somerset

One of Bristol’s green spaces close to the city centre, Brandon Hill is a good place for picnics or barbecues, which are allowed in designated parts of the park. There’s a Tree Trail and a 5 acre nature reserve of lowland meadow, and you can visit the Cabot Tower, a Grade II listed building built in Victorian times to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot’s voyage to land which became known as Canada. Just below Clifton Village, Brandon Hill has fantastic views of the city and the harbourside; a nice escape from the thrust and shove of the city streets.
