Bradford on Tone, Somerset

Bradford on Tone stands, not surprisingly, on the River Tone, 4 miles from the county town of Taunton and 4 miles from Wellington. The village has quite a chirpy community with several groups and events, and there’s a shop and a pub, and a charming 13th century church – if you’re one of those people who like poking about looking at parish churches go and have a gander.

It’s nice to just park up and explore these rural villages, so if you’re out and about, explore this one and then go to The White Horse Inn for a pint of local ale or some home cooked pub food; it’s popular with locals, visitors and people out exploring the glorious countryside or fishing one of the beats on the river. Whilst you're up this way go to Sheppy's Cider where you can stroll through the apple orchards, visit the shop and cafe, and see how traditional cider is made.
