A café, bar and restaurant down by the river with a lively atmosphere and a varied menu that gets going with breakfasts from 8.00am and goes on to lunches, serving snacks all day and dinner in the evening. There’s certainly enough choice on the menu – for lunch you can have delights such as Handpicked Dartmouth Crab Sandwich, their own House Salad, Southern Spiced Smoked Tofu Burger, and West Country Mussels, Devon style. The local emphasis is strong and it continues in the evening with temptations like 8oz Devon Rib Eye Steak, Elston Farm Lamb Koftas and Devon Style Moules Frites. The thing is you really do feel like they care about you here, and like they care about the food they serve, and that’s because they do, they want you to enjoy your time with them; they want you to come back and to tell your friends about this place.
What you’ll notice for sure about Bayard’s Cove Inn is the lovely old building (it’s over 500 years old); the modern furnishings don’t look at all out of place among the original features – painted stone walls and centuries old timbers. It’s all very relaxed and man’s best friend is welcome too.
