Bath Paddleboarding Centre operates from The Jolly Sailor Inn on the River Avon in Saltford. They know everything there is to know about SUP paddleboarding and they can teach it to you whether you’re a complete beginner or whether it’s something you’ve dabbled in and would like to learn more about. From April to October you can book lessons, either 1 to 1, or in groups of up to 10, or on Saturday mornings you can hire boards and take to the waters under your own steam.
If it’s all new to you try a Taster Session which will include a safety brief, how to get on and off the board, paddle strokes, basic turning and a fun game. After that, lessons can be up to 3 hours long, the main provisos being that you can swim and that any children under 16 years of age are accompanied by an adult.
It's not difficult to imagine it… a leisurely couple of hours paddleboarding on the wide waters of an English river, beyond the reed clad banks are miles and miles of beautiful open countryside. Moments like that are to be savoured and remembered.
