You’ll be lured to Bakery On The Water by the tempting aromas of croissants and coffee and freshly baked bread that tantalises your senses and leads you off the main street of Bourton on the Water to this family run artisan bakery and café. There’s seating indoors and outside in the garden, or if you ask nicely, they’ll make you up a little picnic to enjoy by the riverside. What you should do is get there early on a bright sunny morning before the rush starts, and enjoy coffee al fresco, or settle down at a table for a breakfast of free range eggs on thickly sliced bread straight out of the oven. At lunchtime you can tuck into sandwiches, quiche, or pasties, all home made of course; later on it’s afternoon tea time, freshly baked scones plied with jam and cream, yum yum.
