Westbury is a small historic market town in Wiltshire famous for the immense White Horse carved in the chalk hillside close by, the biggest and the oldest of the Wiltshire White Horses. It's one of those towns where not a huge amount goes on but everyone lives happily and joins in the regular events, so there's a good community feel. It’s a nice little town for a leisurely browse round; there’s a market place with several old buildings around it, including a 14^th century church where you can see an Erasmus Bible, and if you have a wander you’ll discover that another of Westbury’s claims to fame is that  the town swimming baths are the oldest operational ones in the country. There are several places to eat, a supermarket and independent shops including traditional favourites like a butchers, a bakers, a sweet shop and a wool shop.

With such great access to the countryside Westbury is a very good starting point for cycle rides or walks in the beautiful Wiltshire landscape, so lace up your boots or pump up your tyres and go see; nearby are Longleat Safari Park and Hope Nature Centre - both are great for a day out. Come back to town and have a bite to eat at The Horse & Groom, Zia Pizza, or if you fancy Indian food, Cinnamon Lounge.
