Westbury is a small historic market town in Wiltshire famous for the immense White Horse carved in the chalk hillside close by, the biggest and the oldest of the Wiltshire White Horses. It's one of those towns where not a huge amount goes on but everyone lives happily and joins in the regular events, so there's a good community feel. It’s a nice little town for a leisurely browse round; there’s a market place with several old buildings around it, including a 14^th century church where you can see an Erasmus Bible, and if you have a wander you’ll discover that another of Westbury’s claims to fame is that the town swimming baths are the oldest operational ones in the country. There are several places to eat, a supermarket and independent shops including traditional favourites like a butchers, a bakers, a sweet shop and a wool shop.
